Field Study Final Visit Weekly Photo Extra Photo Extra Photo Wednesday, November 30 11:55 am Cloudy sky, there is sunrise, it is very windy outside, and quite chilly. 30°F 9 hours and 17 minutes of daylight On my visit I could hear the sound of the trees being moved my the wind, but there was't any animal around because of the time of year. I could feel the cold wind on my face, I still daw the dead plants, and the trees with no leaves, I heard some cars drive by. There is no longer snow on the ground, it is just really windy and chilly. There is no longer snow on the plants, but the plants and trees still have no leaves, they are done for the winter. But, it has been getting colder so there is a thin layer of ice on the top of the pond. Weekly Questions How long is it going to take for there to be an inch of ice on the ground? Is there a reason to why the first snow most of the time doesn't stay around? How cold does it have to be for ice to normally freeze over a pond? How l...

Weekly Picture Extra Picture Extra Picture Extra Picture Sunday, November 13 11:10a.m. Snowing hard on and off, a pure white sky. The snow flakes are big, and seem to slowly float down. 34°F 9 hours and 49 minutes of day light I felt the snow on the ground, it made it cold, on my hands, and face. I felt the snow flakes coming down slowly. I did not hear a much at all a few cars going by that is it. I saw the trees, and plants with snow hanging off of them. Some of the changes that I noticed from the last visit, first of all, there is now snow on the ground, and everything is wither brown or white there are no colored leaves anymore, everything is covered, and leaves are all gone. The trees and the plants that are still alive are covered in snow, some more of plants have died. Sketch  (Sorry it is sideways I don't know how to rotate it.)

(Weekly Picture) (Extra Picture) (Extra Picture) Sunday October 30 6:25pm Cloudy, no wind, cool 57°F 10 hours 34 Minutes I heard one bird, other than that there are not many organisms, a little wind in the trees. Now, the are no leaves on the trees, the different plants on the ground are starting to lose all of their color, starting to look more like the trees. There is even less birds than last time, really no color outside, a lot more brown. Lots of leaves on the ground. Questions? When is the first snow going to be, will all the birds be gone then? When are the plants on the ground going to lose all of their color and look like the trees? What difference is the cold/snow going to make to the surrounding? How cold does it have to be to the ice to freeze all the way over? How long will that be?

(Extra Picture) (Extra Picture) (Extra Picture) (Weekly Picture) Saturday, October 15, 10:36a.m. Light Breeze, Cloudy, Cold 45°F 11 Hours 7 Minutes of day length I heard the wind on the trees which is pretty normal, The leaves on the trees are really yellow, and orange. I saw and heard a few birds chirping, but not a lot. On a rare occasion there was a bird  that would fly overtop.  There are a lot more leaves on the ground, and they are all yellow and orangish. Lots of the plants that were on the ground are starting to die off even more, and they as well are starting to turn yellow. There is still no algae on the pond, and there are a lot less birds, and no crickets than last time. Questions? When will all of the leaves be off the trees? When did all of the crickets leave, where did they go? Does algae not grow int eh cold because there has been no algae recently? Where does the muskrat go in the winter, I have not seen him? How long until all of the plants are dead?
